Yes, the ROC does help reduce air pollution.

Nitric oxide is a significant air pollutant, contributing to smog, acid rain and the greenhouse effect.

The ROC is able to operate with ultra low oxygen levels (in the range of 1%). This is much lower than 9% that alternative waste disposal systems use.

These low oxygen levels reduce the potential for nitrogen oxide production and help improve air quality.
